Cas manager Restaurant Wannee

I work as a manager in Wannnee Restaurant, where I get the opportunity to lead a team and be involved in the service from start to finish.
A typical day starts with making a plan for the shift. We then have a shift meeting with the Food & Beverage Manager, where we discuss the number of guests we are expecting and any special details for the day. After that, we give a briefing to the first-year students and supervisors, before preparing the restaurant for service.
Once the guests arrive, the service begins. During the evening, I help guide the team and keep an overview of what is happening. After the service, we tidy up the restaurant and have a short debrief together to look back on the shift.
What I enjoy most about working at Wannee is the responsibility you are given. You really get the opportunity to lead a team and experience what it is like to be responsible for a service. I also really enjoy the learning process. The practical facilitators give you a lot of feedback and guidance, and there is always something new to learn from them.
One of the most important things I have learned at Wannee is how to stay calm during busy moments and how to lead a team. When things get busy, it is important to keep an overview, communicate clearly and support the people around you. Every service is different, which gives you plenty of opportunities to learn and improve.
Something guests might not always notice is how much preparation goes into a shift at Wannee. Before the first guests arrive, we make sure everything is ready and the team knows what to expect. During the service, there is a lot of communication and teamwork happening behind the scenes to make sure everyone has a pleasant experience.
As a manager, I really enjoy being part of that process and helping the team throughout the service. It is nice to see everything come together once the guests arrive.

I am currently in my third year at Hotel Management School Leeuwarden at NHL Stenden. At Notiz Hotel, I work as a Housekeeping Manager, where I am responsible for helping the housekeeping team and making sure everything is ready for our guests.
A typical day at Notiz does not really exist, and that is one of the things I enjoy most about working here. Every day is different and brings new challenges, highlights and learning moments. Because of this, there is always something new to experience and learn from. As a student working in a learning hotel, I get the opportunity to learn from these experiences and develop myself in practice.
One of the most important things I have learned while working at Notiz is that making a mistake is not the end of the world. Mistakes are part of learning, and sometimes you have to make a mistake in order to become a better hospitality professional. Working at Notiz gives me the opportunity to learn from these moments and improve myself along the way.
Something guests might not always know about the Housekeeping department is how much we focus on sustainability. At Notiz, we only use sustainable cleaning supplies. This is one of the ways our department contributes to the hotel's sustainability efforts and our Green Key quality award.

I am currently in my third year of Hotel Management School Leeuwarden at NHL Stenden. At Notiz Hotel, I work as a Marketing Manager, where I am involved in creating content, working with different departments and looking at our target audience to make sure our marketing reaches the right people.
A typical day in the Marketing department starts with checking our emails and seeing what needs to be done. We also check the content created by the second-year students and work together on new ideas. A big part of our work is looking at our target audience and understanding who we want to reach. This helps us create more targeted content that is relevant to our guests.
What I enjoy most about working at Notiz is that you can really see the results of your work. We get the opportunity to create content ourselves and actually see what it does for the hotel. We can look at the results and see how well a post performs and whether it reaches the people we want to reach. I really enjoy being able to create something ourselves and seeing how it contributes to the hotel.
One of the most important things I have learned while working at Notiz is to become more confident in meetings and taking initiative. Before working at Notiz, I sometimes found it difficult to take the lead during meetings or take the initiative to start something myself. Working here really challenges me to step outside my comfort zone and take more responsibility.
Something guests might not know about the Marketing department is how much work goes into the content they see online. From coming up with ideas and deciding who we want to reach, to creating the content, publishing it and checking the results afterwards. We also work closely with different departments to make sure that our content represents what is happening at Notiz.
